Done Deal
Reading the Denver Property Assessment Records is a bit of a challenge. To see for yourself go here. The address is 1530 Josephine.
From what I can make out, the property sold for $400,000 in August of 2005, for about $1,000,000 sometime later (records not available), and was assessed at $3,350,000 when the City paid $6,000,000 for it on March 9, 2010. The tax payment is listed as $971,500, although I don’t believe the City will be paying tax to itself.
So we paid almost twice the current assessed value, and took $971,500 off of the tax roll for the next ___ years. You fill in the blank as to how long you think this will take.
I can’t help but wonder who Beverly A. Clark is. Her name has been associated with the property since 1987.
