Starlite Drummers
I went to the Denver Black Arts Festival on July 12 to video the parade. I had planned on taping the entire parade, to catch all of the action. But instead I was attracted to the energy and verve of the Colorado Starlite Drummers. There was something going on there: the cool moves of the leader, the communication that seemed to be going on among the players, the effort that was going into keeping their uniforms zipped up in the sweltering heat, they were working it.
So I stuck with them all the way around the lake, recording 5 separate pieces they played. I hope you (and they) enjoy this one.
