One person was killed and another was injured in an overnight shooting in west Charlotte, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to a reported shooting along Southwest Boulevard, near the Birch Townhomes community, just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot.
One of the victims died at the scene, Medic confirmed. The second victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
